Pork For The Pantry

Formed in 2016, Pork For The Pantry is the longest active financial contribution program at The Farm Ministry. Local businesses, Rockingham Cooperative & Eddie Edward Signs, originally purchased pork from local 4-H & FFA youth livestock exhibitors at their county show/sale events and donated the processed protein to West Virginia residents who had their communities devastated by floods early that year.

Pork For The Pantry’s mission is to support the efforts of our area 4-H/FFA youth livestock programs and to contribute fresh protein sources to food pantries across the community. A record 13 hogs were purchased at youth livestock show and sale events in 2019 by partnering businesses across 3 different community sales. These contributions were distributed by partnering with the pantries across the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.
